Continental Classic Hefeweizen

This is a classic German style wheat beer, with the appropriate "tang." The special yeast adds
the clove and banana flavors associated with this style. If you really want to be traditional,
drink it with the yeast mixed in!

O.G.: 1.048
F.G.: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.7% / vol
IBUs: 15

Ingredients required for 5 gallons:

6.6 lb. Northwestern Weizen Malt Extract
1 oz. Mt. Hood Hops (boiling; 45 min) Alpha Acid-4.8%
Wyeast #3068 Weihenstephan
Specialty grains (steep for 30 minutes at 150 degrees F):
8 oz. Crushed dextrin malt (to increase body of beer)
8 oz. Crushed wheat
