Yeast Starter:
Batch Size: 5 Gal
Original Gravity: 1.045
Final Gravity: 1.009
Alcohol Content: 4.9 %
Total Grains: 1.5 lbs
Color: golden
Extract Efficiency: %

Boiling Time: 60 min
Primary Fermentation: 10 days 68 F

Grain Bill:

4 lbs Wheat/Barley extract
1 lb Crystal Malt
1.5 lb Honey Malt

Hop Bill:

1/4 oz Perle hops
3/4 oz Saaz hops
1/2 oz Tettnanger hops

Mash Schedule:

Since I used distilled water for this recipe, I added about 2 tsp Burton water salts to 2.5 gallons of the boiling water

Grains were steeped @ 155 F for 25 minutes. The grain sack was allowed to drain and the wort brought to a boil.
Once boiling, the W/M extract was added with the perle hops. Boiled for 30 minutes. @ 45 min. 1 tsp of Irish Moss was added. @ 55 min, finished w/ tettnanger hops. strained, sparged, cooled to 68 F.

Want a refreshing wheat beer w/o having to lager? this is the one for you! i combined a kolsch recipe w/ a wheat beer recipe and it is delicious! this beer is golden brown in color and has a distinct sweet and bitter flavor. i can really smell the floral aromas of the hops but the sweetness of from the crystal malt and honey malt makes it very easy to drink.
