Brewing Method: All Grain
Yeast: Nottingham English Ale
Yeast Starter: 1/2 gallon
Batch Size: 10 Gallons
Original Gravity: 1.078

Total Grains: 27lbs
Color: 12.1
Extract Efficiency: 75 %
Hop IBU's: 69.5
Boiling Time: 90 minutes
Primary Fermentation: 2 weeks
Secondary Fermentation: none
Additional Fermentation: none

Grain Bill:

14lbs Pale Malt(2-row)
2lbs Honey(I used Buckwheat)
2lbs Demerara Sugar
2lbs Carapils Dextrine Malt
3lbs Amber Malt
4lbs Kasha Buckwheat

Hop Bill:

2oz Amarillo-whole-6 1/2%AA-15min.
2oz Amarillo-whole-6 1/2%AA-2min.
2oz Tomahawks(F-10's)-17%AA-90min.

Mash Schedule:

Dough-in 172F water to hit 152F hold for 90minutes
Knock out-168F
sparge to collect 12 gallons.

Brewers Notes:

Buckwheat groats can be purchased from Health food stores.
To turn into Kasha Buckwheat,1cup Buckwheat to 2 cups water
simmer 7-10minutes.This didn't work.
Do a ceral Mash,boil 1/2hr,then let simmer,till kurnel has
broken open.
Color is very nice red..
I also added 2 extra oz of F-10,and split into two 5 gallon
fermentors,White labs British ale in One,White labs English
ale in the other.Thx Cruz-meister..
