Brewing Method: Extract
Yeast:
Yeast Starter:
Batch Size: 5 US Gallons
Original Gravity: 1.062
Final Gravity: 1.029
Alcohol Content: 4.5% %
Total Grains: 7 US #
Color:
Extract Efficiency: %
Hop IBU's:
Boiling Time: 60 Minutes
Primary Fermentation: 7 Days@65-70 deg.
Secondary Fermentation:
Additional Fermentation: 7 days in bottles

Grain Bill:

4# EDME Extra Stout hopped extract syrup
3# Muntons dried dark extract
1# Quaker oats
2 oz. baker chocolate
8 oz. lactose powder
2 cups dark brown sugar

Hop Bill:

1 oz. fuggles 3-4%

Mash Schedule:

Bake oats at 350 on top oven rack, stirring often until golden.
steep oats in 2 gallons water at 165 for 30 min. then discard.
Add all other ingredients and bring to boil, hold that boil for 60 minutes and stir often.

Brewers Notes:

I took the qualitys from all my favorite stouts and combined them!
If you like to roasted chocolate flavor of a cream stout and the mouthfeel of an oatmel stout,than this one is perfect!
