Yeast Starter: 1 Quart starter at High Krausen
Batch Size: 5 US Gallons
Original Gravity: 1.095
Final Gravity: 1.020
Alcohol Content: 9.7 %
Total Grains: 12.5 pounds (US)
Color: 86.6
Extract Efficiency: 100 %
Hop IBU's: 80
Boiling Time: 75 minutes
Primary Fermentation: 12 days at 60 f
Secondary Fermentation: 10 days at 54 f

4.25 lb. Amber Malt Extract Syrup
4.25 lb. Dark Malt Syrup Extract
4.00 lb. Light Malt Extract Syrup

Hop Bill: 2.00 oz. Cascade 7.8% 60 min
1.00 oz. PERLE 6.7% 30 min
2.00 oz. Willamette 4.9% 10 min
0.50 oz. Willamette 4.9% 20 min

Wyeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity
Robust top cropping yeast with phenolic character. Alcohol tolerance to 12%. Ideal for Biere de Garde. (Attenuation 75-80%, flocculation medium)


This has the making of a fine extract Imperial Stout. I have not brewed this beer. I put together the recipe for a friend.
