This is roughly like a guiness because of its light body, low gravity and
dry bitter palate.
The grain bill is:
11 lbs english pale ale malt
5 lbs raw, pearled, or flaked barley
2 lbs roasted unmalted barley
4 oz of East Kent Goldings hops for the entire boil
That's it!!
If you want to make an oatmeal stout, replace 2 lbs of raw barley with
raw oats.
Ferment with an Irish ale or Irish stout yeast
Starting gravity should be about 1.043
