Brewing Method: Extract
Yeast: Coopers Ale Yeast
Yeast Starter:
Batch Size: 5 US Gallons
Original Gravity: 1045
Final Gravity: 1005
Alcohol Content: 6 %
Total Grains:
Color:
Extract Efficiency: %
Hop IBU's:
Boiling Time: 100 minutes
Primary Fermentation: 6 days at 72F
Secondary Fermentation: 14 days at 72F
Additional Fermentation: 7 days in bottle

Grain Bill:

4# Coopers Real Ale
2# Maltodextrine
8oz Chocolate Malt
3/4 cup dextrose
3/4 cup Maltodextrine (priming)

Hop Bill:

Northern brewer 60 mins (10 mins finishing)
Fuggles 30 mins (10 mins finishing)

Mash Schedule:

Chocolate malt in 1 gallon water, 40 mins at 160F
Add the rest and boil 60 mins

Brewers Notes:

Primary was over in 3 or 4 days. Great tasting beer, dark brown colour with ok head retention. Ready for drinking after one week in bottle. 3 weeks later it is much better still - my mates are raving about it. Need to make some more soon!
