: As many of you know I have proposed having RatFest 2002 here in Ashland. I think there are several advantages of having it here. We are within a day's travel of several micros-Brew Pubs, and at the home of the Sainted South Shore Brewery, where I have a chair with my name-tag on it. I have room here for several tents, a nice shady conversation area, and we are within a block of the city bathing beach and RV park. There are a number of motels in the area, with various price ranges. The nearest mahor airport is in Duluth 60 miles away, within easy driving distance. (Duluth is also home of Fitgers, a Microbrewery/ Pub place with much of the old brewery equipoment still intact, a neat place to tour.) There are a number of kool places to see, Waterfalls, sea caves, etc. I can get us a discount rate on the Island excursion boat (Boss's husband runs it) and there shold be no lack of neat stuff to do. There is also Belize, in case it rains... Here is a site to go to to so you can scope out the area.
