Hello Rats! I have made group reservations at the Best Western hotel in our area (Seabrook) for the weekend of Ratfest, August 9-12, at our home at 4 Main
Street, East Kingston, NH (107). The Best Western is located right off of I-95 on 107, and is 10-12 minutes away from our home (it took me 10 minutes). The best
part about this hotel is that you don't have to make any turns to get to our house, it's just straight on 107. Be aware though, that I will take keys of anybody not
appearing totally sober for any drive during this time. I may be short but you will obey.

Walmart, a few nice pubs, and other shopping is about a minute away, and from I-95 you can get to Portsmouth (15-20 minutes) and Boston (about an hour). You
can also get to Nashua, Manchester, and other good shopping points from there (no sales tax in New Hampshire, shop till you drop). The beach is about a 5-10
minute drive away.

Group rates for that stay are $79/night, $89 for the weekend night(s), and include a "deluxe continental breakfast" from 6-10:30 a.m. which is supposedly very good
(although we will be providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for each day at Ratstock, and I can guarantee the Best Western does not serve Scotch Eggs nor are they
served by a gentleman dressed in a kilt). There are 9 double bed rooms available that have been reserved, as well as some rooms with only a king-size bed. The
rooms with two beds will sleep 2-4 adults and do not cost extra for up to 4 people.

We need to get them a list of attendees and their credit card numbers by 2 weeks prior to the event, or July 26 (okay, let's make it the 25th just to be absolutely
sure). DO NOT send me your credit card numbers by email, print out this message and send it to me with your name (like the name on your credit card, they can't
make reservations by using your handle) and credit card type/number via good old snail mail:

Dorothy Braker
4 Main Street
East Kingston, NH 03827

or if it's getting too late and you want to make sure to be part of the list, call me 603-642-5136.

One more word of caution about these parts: do not, under any circumstances, drive more than 5 miles an hour higher than the posted speed limit. It's
just...not...a...good...idea.

Hope to see a lot of you Brewrats at the shindig, Minnie and Esther are dying to meet ya!

Love, Dorothy

Okay, the two closest airports: Boston and Manchester. Directions from there to our home and to the hotel will follow in the next follow-up (you follow?)

Boston and Manchester are both quite an easy trip to our house. Boston (Logan Airport) takes about an hour, and Manchester about 45 minutes. It's really 6 of
one, half dozen of another. I think that dollar constraints will make the difference in the airport you choose. This just gives you two choices when looking at airfares.

I have been given a tip by Andinator, upon his flight to Boston, waiting 45 minutes in a Hertz line and realizing that if he had been a Hertz preferred customer he
would have walzed in, presented his card, and been out of there with a car in no time. Join the preferred clubs in the car rental places you choose, if you are renting a
car.

For those of you who are not renting a car, if I am given arrival times I can pick people up at the airport. I know that last time I forgot somebody, but I am not
pregnant with twins this time, I will not forget!!! (Uh, sorry still, Cowan) Remember this also, that there is absolutely unlimited space in our backyard and in the
backyard of our neighbor across the street who has a lot of 12 acres and has generously offered land to anybody intrepid enough to pitch a tent. There are also
accomodations in our home but call me quickly, that space is limited and is filling up. When the time comes we will of course fit anybody in that is humanly (?)
possible to fit.

Any of you rats coming into Logan can contact me via email and make arrangements. I'm 99% sure I can pick up a lot or two at Boston's Logan airport.

I must be drunk or stupid to voluteer to drive into that clusterfuck but, hey, this is RATFEST!

Later-
TEX
